The re-development of Balti Curries, Falmouth, asks for the new design to be of a contemporary nature but still remain true to Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. The front entrance aims to become more impacting and engaging with the public, therefore will appeal to a wider public audience. The new proposal will see the existing stairway altered & both existing bar areas combined, and re-located to all effectively open up the front, and offer a more inviting experience. The new décor aims to transform the existing ‘dark’ ambiance with particular emphasis on creating a refreshing atmosphere that corresponds with the new business rebranding and identity. Additionally, the design introduces a new palette of materials which particularly offers a sense of place, referencing its current location (Falmouth, Cornwall) meanwhile considering its Nepalese heritage. This development will aim to create a new user experience through a reformed inviting entrance, a feature wall mosaic, bespoke product design, combined with a careful interior layout, palette of materials and lighting.
